Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs and Everton all battle for £10 million midfielder

Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham and Everton have today all been alerted by the news that Manchester City midfielder Michael Johnson has rejected a new contract at Eastlands. The England under-21 international has been heavily linked with a move away from the City of Manchester stadium all summer.

It now appears as though he could be on his way out sooner rather than later after he rejected a new five-year deal at the club. Johnson, 20, has become an integral part of the Man City first team after progressing through the club's highly regarded youth academy 18 months ago.

It is understood that talks are still ongoing between Michael and the club but there is no doubt Benitez, Wenger, Ramos and Moyes will all be licking their lips at the prospect of bringing the central midfield player to their club. It is likely that whoever does want to buy him will have to pay at least £10 million.

Will Johnson make it into your team? Well sign up for the Daily Mirror's, You the Manager (through the link at the top) and sign the much sought after midfielder for just £3.5 million.
